Did WWE Network Edit Brock Lesnar And New Day At SummerSlam?
Two things WWE wants you to forget about SummerSlam 2015 already.
The conclusion of last Sunday's SummerSlam main event saw The Undertaker trap Brock Lesnar in the Hell's Gate submission hold and Lesnar flashed his middle finger at Undertaker before passing out, which led to the ref calling for the bell and awarding the controversial victory to Undertaker. If you watched the show live, you saw the middle finger as a symbolic way of Lesnar being a defiant hero before he lost the match. A week after the event, if you load up SummerSlam on WWE Network and go to the 3:38:11 mark of the broadcast, what you will see is that Lesnar's finger is blurred. While it's not a big deal either way, it's still interesting that WWE would edit something on the show like that. They should keep the broadcast as authentic as possible. Obviously, they want to maintain the PG rating on their shows and that's why they did it. In other editing news, The New Day's song that they did prior to their SummerSlam tag team title victory is edited off the broadcast. They did a parody of the famous Jay Z & Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" song. If you watch the broadcast today, go to 30:27 as they mention Jay Z, there's then a crowd shot and they simply start chanting "New Day rocks" while their parody was edited out. The reason for the parody being edited off is likely due to licensing issues and WWE may have worried about being sued.
