Drew McIntyre pinned Brock Lesnar to become new WWE Champion in the main event of WrestleMania 36.

Both men kicked out of numerous Claymore Kicks and F5s throughout the match, but McIntyre got the win and has ended Brock's title reign at 182 days. In the process, Drew has become the first British and Scottish WWE Champ in company history.

A lot was made of that in the lead-up to 'Mania, but McIntyre's big moment was threatened by the recent health crisis and the fact that WWE held the show across two nights inside its own Performance Center. That shouldn't stop the flood of genuine affection for the hard-working Scot from tearing across social media.

Lesnar deserves a ton of credit for doing everything in his power to put Drew over the right way too. By winning so definitively on such a grand (if undoubtedly weird) stage, McIntyre now looks like a million bucks and is poised to become a full-time champion WWE can be proud of.

It's also notable that he won with his Claymore Kick after working so hard to get that move over as a game-changer.
