Drew McIntyre Just Dropped Literally The Worst WWE Pitch Ever (WWE News)

Tis but a scratch! Just a flesh wound! You won't believe what Drew McIntyre wanted to do in WWE.

Drew McIntyre revealed a bold pitch during his appearance on Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' show, and you might not be able to believe that he actually wanted to do this.

The big Scot used to carry around a huge Claymore sword, but he'd seldom use it for anything more than pointing. At one point, Drew did cut WWE's ring ropes, and he even stuck it into a table here or there - but McIntyre wouldn't strike opponents with the weapon and it never really factored into his major matches.

That still weighs on his mind today.

Drew told Van Vliet that he asked Vince McMahon if he'd seen Saving Private Ryan. The old WWE boss hadn't, so McIntyre explained that they had mock amputees walking around on set after their limbs were blown off. No, he didn't want to reach for the C4 and copy that, but he did want to cut someone's arm off with his sword.

"I think at 'Mania or something, we should have a fight sequence where we end up backstage. Then, we hit the pre-tape where I swing the sword at somebody. Whoosh, arm comes off. Finally, I use the sword. Pay it off".

McMahon and WWE didn't go for this in the end, and that's something which still bugs Drew: "It’s bothering me. I’m a stickler for details. That’s why I use social media the way I use it to tie stories together if I don’t think they’re tied together enough, and I’m a stickler for details. I’ve had the sword for so long. I have to stab someone!".

Being fair, they did run with 'Eye For An Eye' between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio in 2020!
