'The Rated-R Superstar' is back, baby.

Edge mounted a sensational WWE return at last night's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, entering the match to the most thunderous of thunderous ovations at number 21, ending months of speculation on his WWE status in the process.

It was the first time Edge had competed inside a WWE ring since working a house show two nights after WrestleMania XXVII - almost nine years ago. He acquited himself well, making a super-emotional entrance before throwing out AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Luke Gallows in a successful 23-minute run that saw him reach the final three. Roman Reigns had the honour of finally dumping him from the bout.

A stunning, stunning return, and one that will surely go down as one of the most memorable in WWE history. But what about the future?

WrestleVotes reckon they have the answer:-

It was reported a few weeks ago that Edge had signed a new deal. While 'The Rated-R Superstar' himself denied it, that he had also reportedly visited WWE's head doctor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in recent months and worked a physical spot at SummerSlam 2019 lead to immense speculation that he'd show up last night. Fortunately, these insider hints did nothing to spoil the surprise.

This moment ruled.
