Elaborate Double Turn Angle Considered For Rising WWE Star & Beloved Veteran (WWE News)
Big changes could be incoming for WWE stalwart Sami Zayn and Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42.
WWE top brass is "seriously considering" the thought of a double turn for both Sami Zayn and Trick Williams soon, according to SelfMadePro. Further, Bodyslam.net claims there's a solid chance the duo will work a match against each other come WrestleMania 42 weekend in April.
The most famous double turn in history is, of course, the one orchestrated by Bret Hart and Steve Austin back at 'Mania 13 in 1997. That was booked to perfection - it strapped a rocket to the already-popular 'Stone Cold', and tweaked Hart's presentation by turning him into a salty veteran who didn't believe he was getting what he deserved.
Something similar could be incoming for Sami, and it hasn't escaped WWE's notice that Trick is receiving some booming reactions from live crowds. He drips star power. Chants of, "WHOOP THAT TRICK!" have been loud whenever Williams has made his way out for a match or promo segment since debuting on the main roster.
Recently, Zayn has been smashing various peers with frustrated outbursts over the mic/backstage as well, and he's tortured by the fact he's been unable to defeat Drew McIntyre or live out his dreams of becoming WWE Champion. A heel turn would make sense then. It's also been years since Sami was a villain.
There's no word on exactly when the double turn would take place. It might happen on TV before WrestleMania, or creative could get adventurous and try to mimic the Bret vs. Austin situation on the grandest stage. Either way, it looks like something big is coming for both Trick and Zayn sooner rather than later.
