Eric Bischoff Roasts AEW's Tony Khan's Jade Cargill Comments
Bischoff didn't like the way AEW boss Khan compared Cargill to an ex-WWE star.
Eric Bischoff's war of words with AEW chief Tony Khan looks set to continue.
The latest episode of Bisch's '83 Weeks' podcast brought up Khan's recent comments about new TBS Champion Jade Cargill - Tony compared Cargill to Bill Goldberg, and said Jade would dominate North American wrestling like Goldberg did in WCW.
Eric wasn't exactly thrilled with that connection.
He told listeners that making comparisons between Cargill and Goldberg is ridiculous. Bischoff also likened this kind of hype to Dixie Carter's own bold promises about TNA back in the day. Few of those (as Eric pointed out) actually came true, so he doesn't think it's smart of Khan to promise that Jade is gonna be the next Goldberg when she's still at the very start of her career.
Bischoff didn't blast Cargill's skills though. He told cohost Conrad Thompson that Jade is a "very, very impressive looking individual" and could go on to have a brilliant career. However, he does realise she's also "very green" and has a lot of learning to do.
Eric's biggest problem with Tony's words is the idea that he's putting unfair pressure on Cargill.
