Last night’s AEW Dynamite was a thing of poignant beauty as the All Elite family paid tribute to Brodie Lee.

In a show overflowing with heartfelt comments and classy in-ring tributes for Brodie, his long-time tag team partner Erick Rowan, aka Erick Redbeard, made a surprise appearance to help out the Exalted One’s Dark Order cohorts.

With Wardlow running interference as Alex Reynolds, John Silver and Hangman Page battled the Inner Circle’s MJF, Santana and Ortiz, the hulking Big Red appeared and laid out Wardlow with a chokeslam. The pair would then brawl to the back, before Rowan returned to pay his own tribute to Brodie.

After Reynolds, Silver and Page had picked up the win, an emotional Erick hit the ring with a sign that read “Goodbye for now, My Brother. See you down the road.”

Of course, Erick Rowan and Brodie Lee (as Luke Harper) were often tied at the hip during their WWE tenure, with the pair first a part of the Wyatt Family before later teaming as the Bludgeon Brothers. The tandem won the NXT Tag Team Championships and the SmackDown Tag Team Championships during their time teaming together.

Whether this was a one-off AEW appearance for Erick or the start of something more permanent, we’ll have to wait and see.
