Every Wrestler WWE Released In 2023

WWE cut a LOT of active wrestlers throughout 2023. Here's your definitive guide on who!

WWE's roster turnover stands in awe of the company's financial one, and that's why many fans criticise when workers are let go or allowed to tick their contracts down. Often, wrestlers don't actually want to leave in the first place. Why would they? Replacing that guaranteed income is never easy.

Thankfully, other groups like AEW, TNA, New Japan etc do offer sanctuary. That's especially true if you've been able to make a decent-enough splash on WWE TV - Tony Khan is waiting, and his roster is bursting at the seams with former stars on Raw, SmackDown and NXT. A few more won't hurt, eh?!

2023 saw some big hitters leave the Triple H-led nest. WWE's TKO/Endeavour takeover created some waves in the locker room, but a number of others were cut long before they could leave an imprint on the product properly. Then, there was the curious case of a bonafide Hall Of Famer.

He departed on his own terms, and fancies working until he can work no more.

Here's every active wrestler released by WWE this year. Good luck to them all. Some may need it more than others...

30. Performance Center Recruits

Daniel McArthur, Alexis Gray, Kevin Ventura-Cortes and Melanie Brzezenski were all cut within 24 hours across the span of 21-22 September. A few had appeared on NXT before being released, but hardly in major roles. All four were pretty much Performance Center hopefuls still literally learning the ropes.

The fact they didn't nail down a regular roster spot sounds damning, but it wouldn't necessarily be a surprise if WWE came knocking for any of the four again someday. Think of this as a first strike for the quartet. Unless, of course, any of them decided that pro wrestling just wasn't for them.

That's possible.
