Everything That Was Supposed To Happen At WrestleMania 36 (But Didn’t)

1. An Actual Coronation For Drew McIntyre

This is the one that stings the most for long-time fans of the WWE. Over the past few months to years watching McIntyre rise up the ranks, proving himself not only in the ring, but on the mic as a credible entertainer. This is the same guy who ripped air guitar back in the day. Seeing him go from 3MB to the main event of WrestleMania is something extraordinary in its own right.

But, that mention of the “main event” will now always have an asterisk next to it, which is the part that gets us. Did Drew really get his main event? As fans, we wanted him to experience the true coronation he deserved. Thousands upon thousands of fans cheering, all that WrestleMania confetti, pyro and of course, an extended moment in the middle of it all.

It’s hard to say but such a moment is unlikely to ever come around again. If it does, he could very much be on the losing end of it in an effort to build someone else up.

That’s fair enough but ultimately, the lack of fanfare behind Drew McIntyre’s huge victory is the biggest loss of WrestleMania 36.
