The artist formerly known as Sasha Banks has publicly thanked everyone from Triple H and Vince McMahon to William Regal and WWE generally.

Banks, who has been reborn as Mercedes Mone in New Japan, took to Twitter shortly before debuting for the company at Wrestle Kingdom 17. There, Mone delivered a series of short tweets that expressed gratitude to those who had helped turn her into the star she is today.

Naturally, fan comments were roundly positive. However, there were some who wondered if Mone's timing was a little off on the McMahon praise - the former WWE boss remains at the centre of a sexual misconduct case. The former Sasha was only thanking those who had helped her reach this point professionally though.

Mercedes also reached out to the "WWE Universe" by praising fans who had come along for the ride on her pro wrestling journey to date. She's obviously hopeful those folks follow her story to Japan.

As Mone, Banks confronted reigning IWGP Women's Champion KAIRI (fellow WWE alumni Kairi Sane) and seemingly teased an incoming match between the pair. Her Wrestle Kingdom debut is already the talk of the town.
