Adam Cole has responded to old NXT foe Pat McAfee's joke contract offer.

The now former-WWE star replied to McAfee's original tweet offering $22,000 per year to act as a podcast assistant for his production company. This, obviously, was in good fun, and Cole couldn't resist biting - he tweeted back to say, "I'll think about. I'm kidding. I hate you".

Top banter, boys.

McAfee and Cole likely became good friends behind the scenes following their memorable NXT feud last year. That peaked when the former Undisputed Era leader bested the soon-to-be SmackDown colour commentator at TakeOver XXX in August 2020.

That match was a true breakout moment for Pat in WWE, and it could lead to more matches in the future now he's on SmackDown. Meanwhile, it looks like Cole could be AEW-bound at some point. The timing of that leap naturally depends on any non-compete clauses written into his prior contract, but it's surely on the cards sooner rather than later.

McAfee couldn't stop himself from firing one more rib at Cole on his way out the door. Thankfully, "Bay Bay" took it in good spirits.
