Ex-WWE Star Says Some Backstage 'Had Issues With His Voice'

WWE staff members didn't like the way this released wrestler's voice sounded.

"Most people" in WWE had problems with Keith Lee's voice.

According to the current AEW star, many backstage in the company "had an issue with the way that [he] speaks". Specifically, according to Lee himself on Busted Open Radio, they didn't like his "demeanour" or "cadence" when he was talking with them behind the curtain.

That annoyance manifested itself again whenever Keith was tasked with cutting promos - those same folks expressed concerns that he wasn't the best on the mic. This, says Lee, made it tough for him to gain any solid footing on Raw once he moved up from NXT.

It's still something he's slightly self-conscious about today too.

When asked for his thoughts on a possible faction with legend Mark Henry, Keith said that the one-time 'Sexual Chocolate' could handle most of the talking if AEW wanted him to. It's a shame that he's been made to feel that being well-spoken is an issue.

Lee has tremendous poise about him on the mic, and he could've cut some seriously good promos in WWE. Fingers crossed he gets the chance to do that in AEW.
