Ex-WWE & TNA Stars Partner Up On New 'KAYfABE' Project

WWE Hall Of Famer Amy 'Lita' Dumas has buddied up with Impact Hall Of Famer Gail Kim and former WWE/TNA star Christy Hemme to launch their new 'KAYfABE' project.

The trio's mission statement claims they are "truth-telling renegades with a mission to create impactful, female centric, professional wrestling content". Their 'KAYfABE' project is crowdfunded via Kickstarter, and aims to raise $400,000 within 35 days.

At press time, 146 backers had pledged $37,301 to the project.

Dumas, Kim and Hemme are teaming with numerous other pro wrestling personalities to make the project a success. Names listed on the Kickstarter page include talents, producers and ex-writers like Jimmy Jacobs, Chavo Guerrero, Tom Casiello, David Sahadi, Doug Lebow, Geordy Sincavage, Bryan Edwards, Sebastian Sokolowski, Javier Lovato, Alisha Edwards, Curtis Blank, DS Shin, and Jeffrey Lamont Brown.

When broken down, 'KAYfABE' plans to allocate the $400,000 as thus: $275,000 on pilot production, $64,000 on rewards for backers, $36,000 on platform fees and credit card processing, and $25,000 on general operational costs.

The main goal is to produce a one-hour wrestling show that is "50 percent story and 50 percent in ring action".
