Former WWE and WCW wrestler Buff Bagwell has suffered what the Cobb Country Police Department describes as "serious injuries" following a car accident on Sunday evening.

The report notes that the 50-year-old was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia after losing control of his vehicle while "negotiating a curve," colliding with the median and a metal fence before the car veered west across eastbound lanes. Bagwell's car hit a curb and a free-standing bathroom at the Cobb Country Transit bus station before coming to a rest.

The collision is still under investigation, though investigators believe that Bagwell was under the influence of prescription medication when he suffered the accident.

The department has made a public appeal to anyone with information regarding the collision.

Bagwell is best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling, where he was a pushed commodity for much of his 10-year running, scoring five World Tag Team Championship reigns. He stayed with Ted Turner's promotion from 1991 until the group was bought out by WWE in 2001. He didn't last in Stamford, however, parting ways with the industry leaders shortly after a poorly received debut match with Booker T.
