Say goodbye to WWE's 'Kalisto' and hello to 'Samuray Del Sol', who faced FTR last night.

Former WWE wrestler Kalisto debuted for AEW on last night's episode of Dynamite, teaming with fellow luchador Aero Star to challenge for FTR's AAA World Tag Team Championships.

Reverting to his old indie name, Samuray Del Sol, the former WWE United States Champion entered a high-flying performance against the more grounded Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. This provided the match's story. Del Sol and Aero Star worked against the heels' stifling approach and fought to capitalise on their superior agility and quickness with dazzling moves, though they were thwarted when Wheeler pinned Aero Star while grabbing the ropes.

AEW president and founder Tony Khan announced the match during a pre-Dynamite appearance on Wrestling Observer Live.

There was no indication that Del Sol had signed with AEW at the time of writing. His partner, Aero Star, currently wrestles for Mexico's AAA, with whom AEW has enjoyed a working relationship since launching in 2019.

Del Sol, 34, has been a free agent since being released by WWE in April. This was the former Kalisto's first match since the 9 April episode of SmackDown, on which he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
