Extreme Rules: John Cena vs Ryback And The Dangers For The WWE
Solutions! So basically the idea is to have Cena retain the title while still making Ryback look strong. This is made easier by the fact that it is Extreme Rules so that you could put stipulations into the match. The obvious option then would be a Last Man Standing match, where both competitors can't make the count of ten. This would be interesting and allow the WWE to continue the feud for another month as Ryback could simply claim that while Cena didn't lose the match, he didn't win it either. Cena, being the honourable babyface that he is, would want to purge the idea that he couldn't beat Ryback from his mind and be up for the rematch at Payback. The second option is a little more complex but would be interesting anyway. Make it an Extreme Rules match and have Ryback destroy Cena completely and utterly. Everytime Cena mounts some sort of offence it is stopped by a violent response by Big Hungry. But despite all this, Cena will not stay down. He just keeps kicking out. Ryback, getting more and more frustrated and brutal makes a mistake and opens himself up to the STFU- Cena applies it and Ryback taps. But after the match, Cena can't get up. He is totally destroyed and defenceless as trainers rush to his aid. Ryback, now up again, is furious and rampages through the doctors and trainers seeing to Cena to deliver a last brutal Shell Shock to the WWE Champion. The next night, Cena does not show due to injury. Instead Ryback comes out and claims that while he did not beat the WWE Champion he did something far more- he destroyed him. He also should brutalise some mid carder to continue to emphasise his new ruthless streak ( Zach Ryder maybe? ) and claim he deserves another shot at Cena because he was the only one that walked away from the ring. Next week on Raw Cena returns but it is not the same John Cena crowing about hustle, loyalty and respect. It's a more subdued and clearly still hurt Cena who has his doubts about the next PPV as nobody has managed to physically dismantle Cena the way Ryback did. Therefore although Cena won he knows deep down it's only a matter of time before the torch is passed. All of a sudden Cena can see a future where he is no longer the face of the company and he is wondering if it is time for himself to step aside. Meanwhile Ryback continues to brutalises midcard faces and asking the fans and the faces where Cena is to save them. implying that he is too scared to face Ryback down. This'll continue on Smackdown and Raw ( there's only 4 weeks between the PPVs ) until the go home show on Raw where the last midcard face ( probably Kofi ) is being attacked and it should be truly awful, with Shell Shocks and chair shots after the match. But before Ryback puts Kofi through a table Cena appears and whacks Ryback with a chair. He grabs a mic and says that Ryback had no grievance with any of these guys- Ryback's only real beef is with him and he accepts Ryback's challenge at Payback.
