Yuka Sakazaki is on her way back to AEW for the first time in the best part of a year.

The top Tokyo Joshi Pro star's impending United States return was confirmed by her home promotion over the weekend, with TJPW announcing that she had been pulled from events scheduled for 3 and 5 May. Per the statement, AEW had requested her presence for a match this week, with Sakazaki deciding to "join AEW in a hurry."

Yuka has now addressed the situation on Twitter, having posted the following earlier today:-

This will be the first time the Japanese star has worked a US-based AEW bout since July 2021, when she wrestled four matches against KiLynn King, Penelope Ford, Amber Nova, and Dani Jordyn, winning each of them. Earlier that year, Yuka participated in the Japanese bracket of the Women's World Title Elimination Tournament, where she beat Mei Suruga and Emi Sakura before falling to eventual competition winner Ryo Mizunami.

Sakazaki and Magical Super Rabbits partner Mizuki currently reign as TJPW's Princess Tag Team Champions. Their last defence came on TJPW's Still Incomplete '22 show on 9 April.
