Fatal 5 Way Main Event Announced For WWE Extreme Rules
Brock Lesnar's next challenger will be crowned on June 4th.
With Braun Strowman on the injury reserve (and now reportedly set to miss 4-6 months of action), WWE's plans for Unviersal Champion Brock Lesnar have gone awry. 'The Monster Among Men' was set to meet the champ on July 9th's Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view, and his absence has left Lesnar with no clear direction ahead of his scheduled return on June 12th.
Fortunately, Kurt Angle directly address the issue on last night's Raw. The General Manager announced a Fatal 5 Way match for Extreme Rules on June 4th, with the winner becoming number one contender to the Universal Title, and presumably clashing with 'The Beast Incarnate' at Great Balls Of Fire.
Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and Samoa Joe will compete in the match. Though Reigns would usually be the favourite in such scensarios, he is expected to face Brock in WrestleMania 34's main event, and WWE may want to keep them apart as a result.
Here's how the Extreme Rules card looks following the announcement:-
Number One Contender's Fatal 5 Way: Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
Raw Tag Team Titles: The Hardys (c) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro
