With WWE currently looking to put together a stacked card for this year’s two-day WrestleMania, there’s now talk that Finn Bálor could well be defending his NXT Championship at the Showcase of the Immortals.

From the usually reliable @WrestleVotes, certain WWE officials have discussed having the NXT Championship defended on the main WrestleMania 37 card.

To date, the NXT Championship has never been featured on a WrestleMania, although last year did see the NXT Women’s Championship on the line, as Rhea Ripley lost that prize to Charlotte Flair.

For Bálor, he first has to successfully navigate the challenge of Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on 14 February. But if the Prince can get past the Bruiserweight, he could well find himself tasked with defending the NXT Championship at the Granddaddy of Them All.

Emanating from Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, WrestleMania 37 will take place on 10 and 11 April. No matches have been set in stone for the event at this early juncture, although the current belief is that men's Royal Rumble winner Edge will challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns, while women's Rumble winner Bianca Belair will square off with SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks.
