With it revealed earlier this month that NXT will soon be serving up the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the first two participating teams have been confirmed for this tournament.

The ongoing NXT broadcast first saw Johnny Gargano mention how Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell will be entering the Women’s Dusty Classic to represent the Way. Following this, a backstage segment saw Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon lined up as being another pairing for this inaugural tourney.

At this stage, NXT has yet to announce when the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will commence or exactly how many teams the tournament will consist of.

Given how the winner of the Men’s Dusty Classic earn themselves a shot at the NXT Tag Team Champions, it seems safe to assume that the victors in the Women’s Dusty Classic will get themselves a crack at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships currently held by Asuka and Charlotte Flair.

It appears likely that the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic may not get fully up and running until its male counterpart is concluded.

Expect more NXT news as tonight’s show rumbles on.
