Former Impact Wrestling Star Mia Yim Signs With WWE
Mae Young Classic standout inks full-time deal.
Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion and current Mae Young Classic competitor Mia Yim has signed a full-time WWE contract, having started at the Performance Center on 16 September.
The 29-year-old appeared in a number of promotional videos last week, sparking speculation that she'd finally inked a deal with the company, and PW Insider have now confirmed it as a done deal.
Long considered one of North America's most talented female wrestlers, Yim, as Jade, was a fixture of Impact's Knockouts division from 2015-2017, and has spent the past 18 months working the indies. Shayna Baszler dealt her a second round defeat in the first Mae Young Classic, but she has already overcome old TNA rival Allysin Kay in this year's competition, and will now face former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn at the next stage.
Mia was heavily linked with a WWE deal following the original MYC, but was stricken by a long-term injury in late 2017, only returning to full active competition this April. There's no word on when she might debut for NXT, though her Impact experience means she might not be held off television for long.
