Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito was in attendance for this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, watching on from the crowd as a fan.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Carlito proclaimed, "For the 1st time in years I was able to watch as just as fan. Great crowd tonight in H-town" - complete with a shot of the Dynamite stage from his vantage point.

This week's Dynamite took place from the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, with the crowd white-hot all night for what was a pretty darn great show from top to bottom.

As for Carlito, the hugely charismatic star briefly returned to WWE earlier this year after departing the company back in 2010. That return saw the one-time United States Champion and two-time Tag Team Champ compete in the men's Royal Rumble match, then wrestle a tag bout on the following night's Raw.

Despite initial reports that Carlito was returning to WWE in a full-time capacity, the star's return was a fleeting one rather than a full return to the fold. Carlito has remained active since that two-show stop off in WWE, competing as recently as this past Saturday, where he defeated MLW's Jordan Oliver at Hybrid Off to the Races.

At 42 years of age and in the best shape of his career, Carlito still has plenty left to offer the wrestling business on a mainstream level should he so choose.
