In some sad news, Harold Hogue - better known to wrestling fans as Ice Train - has passed away at the age of 56.

Hogue's close friend Diamond Dallas Page took to Facebook to break this tragic news:

The family will be issuing a statement shortly, please respect their privacy. It was so Sad to hear, that one of my closest brothers is gone. Harold Hogue aka H aka Ice Train aka Smooth was a warrior and one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. Our 30 year relationship was filled with laughter & brotherhood. We were always there for each other. Our families are one family. One of my fondest memories was the Christmas the two of us headed into the inner city to help many of the less fortunate families have a better Christmas. As you can see we got on our favorite Christmas outfits and headed out to spread some cheer. I’ve also included one my favorite pictures of H & my mom Sylvia at Payge’s & my wedding. I will put up a tribute video up later next week. I just don’t have the strength to do it yet.RIP my brother! You will be missed but never forgotten!Much Love & Respect

Having made his professional wrestling debut back in 1990, Harold Hogue was best known for his three spells in WCW.

Under the name Ice Train, Hogue made his WCW debut in July 1993, embarking on a run of dominant victories across WCW WorldWide and WCW Saturday Night before making his PPV debut at Fall Brawl 1993, where he'd pick up a win over Shanghai Pierce. His first singles loss would come in January of the following year, losing to Ron Simmons at WCW Clash of the Champions XXVI.

Ice Train would depart WCW in the summer of '94 and head to Otto Wanz's Catch Wrestling Association in Germany. The powerhouse would return to WCW in early 1996, where a match against Scott Norton would lead to the pair teaming up under the Fire & Ice name. Memorably, Fire & Ice had a fun rivalry with the Steiner Brothers; a rivalry that ultimately led to the break up of Fire & Ice as Train and Norton embarked on their own feud together.

After another short stint in the CWA, Harold Hogue would be back in WCW in 2000 as part of the New Blood, then would take the moniker of M.I. Smooth and operate as a heavy for Ernest Miller. Hogue would remain with the promotion until it was purchased by Vince McMahon in early 2001, with him quietly retiring shortly after that buyout. That said, Ice Train did come out of retirement for a one-off match against Dave Taylor in Germany back in 2019.

The thoughts of all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling go out to the family, friends, and fans of Ice Train.
