There's currently no word on whether or not Perkins has signed with Impact, and there's every chance this was just a one-time deal. Regardless, that he beat a hotly-tipped prospect in Austin suggests there may be more in the tank as far as him and the former TNA goes.

Perkins had previously wrestled for Impact under his real name, as well as under the Manik and Suicide gimimicks. He was with the company on and off from 2004 to 2016, before signing with WWE and competing in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. He won, and was then installed as the figurehead of the new division, but lost his title to The Brian Kendrick just a few months later.

Finally released from his WWE contract after years of underutilisation in February, TJP appears to be thriving on wrestling's smaller stages once again. Here's hoping he keeps moving forward.
