Jinder Mahal is back, baby.

'The Modern Day Maharaja' and former WWE Champion returned from a lengthy injury absence during last night's Raw, defeating an overmatched Akira Tozawa in just a couple of minutes. A simple, straightforward squash saw Mahal batter the ex-205 Live throughout and throw him around ringside, eventually putting him away with the Khallas, seemingly kickstarting another push for the Indo-Canadian grappler.

Jinder had been missing from WWE programming since June 2019. Struck down by a serious knee injury, it was reported that he'd have to miss six-to-twelve months of action, though he was still sent to Raw as part of the 2019 WWE Draft in October.

Last week brought news that Mahal had been cleared to return to action and he did so to little hype, with only a brief commentary introduction preceding the Tozawa match.

It'll be interesting to see where Mahal fits on Raw. That he's a former World Champion and has 3MB history with Drew McIntyre could lead to a spot as a fill-in opponent for the Scot, though not until Drew has dispensed with Seth Rollins, who he'll face at Money In The Bank 2020.
