Former WWE & IMPACT Name Joins AEW

AEW lands creative boost in the form of ex-WWE, IMPACT, and ROH man.

Jimmy Jacobs
IMPACT Wrestling

Jimmy Jacobs has departed IMPACT Wrestling to join AEW's creative team, reports the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.

Jacobs, who had worked on IMPACT creative since 2017, joins a growing team in AEW. Headed by company founder and CEO Tony Khan, AEW has recently added Director of Wrestling Administration Will Washington to its creative team, as well as taking increased input from Bryan Danielson. They join existing collaborators Dean Malenko, Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels, QT Marshall, and Sonjay Dutt.

Fightful Select had reported that Jacobs was backstage at last night's AEW Dynamite prior to news of his signing breaking. The outlet corroborates that Jacobs is now with AEW full-time, having wrapped his IMPACT commitments.

Before joining IMPACT, Jacobs was infamously fired from WWE for being photographed with various Bullet Club members, including 'Hangman' Adam Page and The Young Bucks, outside an episode of Raw in October 2017. He had started with the market-leading promotion in March 2015.

Wrestling-wise, Jacobs is best known for his time in Ring Of Honor, where he led the Age of the Fall stable alongside such names as Tyler Black (the future Seth Rollins) and Brodie Lee.
