Former WWE Star Debuts For IMPACT Wrestling
The cruiserweight division stalwart is making waves in the X division.
Mascara Dorado, the former Gran Metalik, has made his debut for IMPACT Wrestling.
Per IMPACT Asylum, the ex-WWE Superstar appeared on the first night of the company's Lone Star Stampede television tapings. He wrestled Alex Zayne in a winning effort, with the match due to be aired on a future broadcast of IMPACT's AXS TV programme.
It's unknown if this was a one-off appearance or if the masked marvel will make further appearances for the Anthem-helmed promotion. He gave his thanks to the company in a quote-tweet showing footage of him vs. 'The Sauce'.
Gran Metalik first ventured into WWE as part of 2016's Cruiserweight Classic after wowing audiences overseas in CMLL and NJPW. He soon joined up with Kalisto and Lince Dorado in the Lucha House Party, enjoying a brief run as WWE 24/7 Champion before he was let go from the company on 4 November 2021. Metalik had initially requested his release a few weeks earlier.
Now once again competing as Mascara Dorada, the 33-year-old has become a regular of New Japan Pro-Wrestling's US-based STRONG brand, most recently battling Misterioso as part of Fighting Spirit Unleashed.
