Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite brought the usual array of upcoming match announcements prior to its main event, with a surprising Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifier the pick of the bunch this time around.

FTR tag team partners Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler will face each other for a spot in the tournament proper. This goes down on next week's episode of AEW Dynamite, with the winner set to join Kyle O'Reilly and Samoa Joe, who have already advanced into the competition.

This will be Wheeler's first singles match since signing with AEW in May 2020. Dax, on the other hand, has contested high-profile bouts against Jungle Boy, Chris Jericho, PAC, and CM Punk on top of his FTR tag team duties. The duo have never gone one-on-one with each other, either, giving this contest extra appeal.

Cash, meanwhile, added the following:-

FTR are currently in the form of their lives. Reigning as both the ROH and AAA World Tag Team Champions, their singles match comes on the back of red-hot, acclaimed tag bouts with The Briscoes and Young Bucks on successive weeks. Expect a contest befitting the Hart family name and legacy.
