FTR are the new AEW World Tag Team Champions, dethroning The Gunns on last night's episode of Dynamite, effectively confirming that they will be staying with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion in the process.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler's wrestling futures had been brought into question over the past few months, with Harwood revealing the duo's AEW contracts were set to expire in April. That they took a hiatus from the sport between January and March meant the speculation intensified, though Harwood remained open on the subject, with him and Wheeler seemingly taking time to consider their options.

Last night saw FTR wrestle The Gunns in a bout stipulating that if Dax and Cash lost, they would leave AEW. They ended up toppling Austin and Colten via double pinfall in the second match of the two teams' rivalry.

FTR are now two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, having previously reigned for 63 days in 2020. The duo had been heavily linked with a return to WWE as rumours on their next move swirled.

The former Revival are yet to comment on last night's result. Given how forthright Dax has been on such topics, we'll likely hear from them soon.
