Full Brackets Revealed For AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament
AEW has revealed the full brackets for its Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament.
With the AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament to kick off on tonight’s Dynamite with the mouth-watering prospect of Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa, AEW has now revealed the full brackets for this tourney.
It had already been announced that this tournament will be made up of a United States side and a Japan side, with the winner of each side meeting to determine the next challenger for Hikaru Shida’s AEW Women’s Championship.
As revealed by a Tony Schiavone-hosted Bracketology Special, the full first round line-up for this eliminator tournament is as follows:
United States First Round
- Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa
- Serena Deeb vs. Riho
- Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose
- Dr Britt Baker vs. Anna Jay
Japan First Round
- Yuka Sakazaki vs. Mei Suruga
- Veny vs. Emi Sakura
- Maki Itoh vs. Ryo Mizunami
- Aja Kong vs. Rin Kadokura
The US semi-finals will then see Hirsch/Rosa vs. Deeb/Riho and Conti/Rose vs. Baker/Jay, while the Japanese side of the brackets will have semis of Sakazaki/Suruga vs. Veny/Sakura and Itoh/Mizunami vs. Kong/Kadokura.
As for when and where these matches will air, the US matches will air every Wednesday on Dynamite. The matches out of Japan will each Monday night on AEW’s YouTube channel, commencing from next Monday.
It’s not yet been confirmed by AEW, but the belief is that the #1 contender who emerges from this tournament will get their shot at Shida at 7 March’s Revolution PPV.
