Fightful Select reports that some longtime employees backstage at WWE viewed Vince McMahon's dangerous driving as "joke but serious" over the years. This likely means that those people poked fun at McMahon being "an erratic driver", but wouldn't accept lifts from the-then WWE boss due to his driving style. It's believed that this isn't a recent thing, but actually stretches back decades.

Side note: This isn't something Fightful mentioned in their write-up, but Jim Ross has detailed via his 'Grilling JR' podcast and in his books that Vince was a fast driver in the mid-1990s when they'd ride together. According to Ross, McMahon enjoyed the thrill of going fast and blasting loud music when on the open road.

WWE sources told the website that, whilst Vince does have a driver who takes him from A to B, he's also always enjoyed doing the driving himself because that makes him feel "grounded". Jokes were made about McMahon saying this whilst driving a $250,000 car.

That Bentley Continental GT had its two front wheels "sheared off" and the car's airbags were deployed during a recent smash involving a woman called Barbara Dolan. She said she'd been "lucky to have survived" in a Facebook post detailing the incident when McMahon's car collided with the rear of her vehicle.

After it, Vince was issued with a misdemeanour summons. He violated two Connecticut General Statutes, those being for 'Reckless Driving' and 'Following Too Closely Resulting in an Accident', and has been released after posting a $500 bond.

McMahon is set to appear at Stamford Superior Court on 26 August.
