The Braun Strowman success story continues to surge forth with no signs of stopping. This is surprising given that many features of this story don't often draw the endearment of wrestling fans.

Firstly, Strowman had a terrific look but no wrestling experience when he came to WWE. Rather than building a persona in NXT, Strowman was sent to the main roster to flank Bray Wyatt, overshadowing the underrated Luke Harper. Then he began a solo career where he plowed through jobbers seemingly endlessly.

This kind of start is a surefire way to turn hardcore wrestling fans against you. Yet, to the surprise of many, Strowman has been undeniably brilliant. His character harkens back to the monster heels of old, and his athleticism has translated into terrific in-ring skill for a man his size.

Then the master stroke: honing in on WWE's chosen one, Roman Reigns. His relentless attacks on Reigns are some of Raw's best segments of the year. With the fans on his side, no one is batting an eyelid at his upcoming Universal Title shot.

While most fans are skeptical of muscle-bound strongmen getting mega-pushes, Strowman is the perfect example of how to diffuse those criticisms. WWE would clearly love to put the title on the 'Monster Among Men,' and Strowman has done brilliantly to get the audience on-side too. Don't be surprised if Braun walks out of SummerSlam as Universal Champion.
