Gunther Tells Fan Who Drove 9 Hours To Meet Him To "Do Something Better With Your Time" (WWE News)
WWE star Gunther felt like this was the "responsible" thing to tell a well-meaning fan.
WWE star Gunther has revealed that he offered some words of advice to a well-meaning fan who drove 9 hours to meet him at an autograph signing. The former World Champion, who lost that prize to CM Punk at SummerSlam before Seth Rollins cashed in MITB to leave as champ himself, told The Undertaker and Michelle McCool on 'Six Feet Under' that he had the following to say:
"Do something better with your time. Do something that actually benefits you".
He also called her 9 hour journey "a waste of time". This might seem cold (both 'Taker and McCool seemed slightly taken aback by Gunther's tone on the podcast), but it's fairly clear that the 'Ring General' meant this as more of a life lesson. He told the woman that he "appreciated" her effort, and noted that "she looked a bit sad". However, Gunther thought it was "the only responsible thing to say at that point".
The celebrated in-ring workhorse and one of the best wrestlers in the world right now then said he's hopeful that someone would give his kid the same advice if they travelled that length of time just to meet somebody.
The Undertaker Said He'd Choose Gunther For 'One More Match'
Something else of note from the podcast: The Undertaker said he'd personally hand pick Gunther as an opponent if he was able to have just one more match. Unfortunately, 'Taker is in no position physically to launch a WWE comeback and wrestle the kind of match Gunther likes, but he dearly wishes the Austrian had come along whilst he was still capable.
Naturally, Gunther took that as a huge compliment.
'Taker even went deep in the weeds with the set-up, and seemed to be salivating at the thought of stepping foot inside the ring with the current bruiser. Adding some comedy relief, McCool interrupted to say both guys should stop their love-in immediately. That made Gunther laugh.
Recently, Gunther retired Bill Goldberg. There were concerns about what the bout would be like before they locked horns at Saturday Night's Main Event in mid-July, but it turned out to be a satisfying night's work for both. Goldberg put Gunther over strongly before calling it a career - on his podcast, Undertaker teased that he might even do the same.
