Heath Slater has responded on Twitter to AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes' recent comments on the company not wanting to sign him.

Rhodes was taking part in a Q&A on Instagram Live when he was asked whether AEW were interested in signing the former WWE employee. 'The American Nightmare' responded by saying 'Nope, no on Heath Slater', before stating that he'd like to avoid becoming 'All Friends Wrestling'.

Now, Slater has taken to Twitter to fire back at Rhodes for outright killing any chances the 'One Man Band' had of becoming 'All Elite'.

Slater tweeted, “Damn!! NO. Nope on Heath?? I know you are a new business man but that was a bad business decision. @CodyRhodes”.

Proving to be a consistent and reliable hand throughout his lengthy tenure with WWE, Slater would definitely have been a wise acquisition for AEW.

Could this now open the door for a move to another promotion? Or are both Slater and Rhodes trying to pull off an elaborate work?

Both seem like realistic possibilities at this stage.

Rhodes also said he thinks and hopes that he will work with Zack Ryder again in the future, also noting that 'he’s just entering wrestler prime'.

Which recently released WWE stars do you think will pop up in AEW next? Could it be quite some time until a Black Wednesday casualty becomes 'All Elite' due to the current global situation?

We'll have to wait and see.
