Nikki Cross came up with her new superhero character herself.
This is according to Cross' husband, NXT bruiser Killian Dain, who quote-tweeted a WWE gif of Nikki's ring entrance during last night's episode of Raw. "She had an idea and saw it brought to life. Very excited to see whats next! Go go Nikki!!!!", he said.
Cross' gimmick change came out of the blue. A backstage promo saw the Scot claim she had been encouraged by recent victories over Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, which lit a spark inside of her. Stood there in a blue mask and matching face paint, Nikki's full outfit was revealed as the camera zoomed out, showing the full blue-and-gold superhero look.
Reuniting with former tag team partner Alexa Bliss, Cross then scored a Money in the Bank 2021 qualification victory over Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax, pinning Baszler while Bliss hypnotised Jax.
Teaming with Alexa was the only time Cross has ever been used consistently on WWE's main roster. The duo are two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, though Bliss' turn to Bray Wyatt's side in 2020 left Nikki in limbo. Now, after two months of consistent Raw appearances, she appears to be re-emerging.
