Hikaru Shida wants to bring VENY back to All Elite Wrestling.

The former AEW Women's World Champion said as much on Twitter on Tuesday, putting the 23-year-old over huge following their latest buzz-worthy performance:-

VENY, who also competes as ASUKA, faced Stardom's celebrated World Of Stardom Champion Syuri at yesterday's Hana Kimura Memorial show in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. The bout was met with lavish praise as it aired on FITE TV, having headlined the show on the second anniversary of Kimura's tragic passing.

Last year's Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament brought VENY's only AEW appearances to date. Defeated by Emi Sakura in the Japanese bracket's first round, they returned for a trios match featuring Shida, Sakura, Maki Itoh, and more on 28 February.

The freelancer is regarded as one of the most promising and exciting figures on the Japanese independent scene. 2022 has already brought appearances in such groups as DDT, Sendai Girls, and SEAdLINNNG, amongst others, with VENY keeping a typically busy schedule after an excellent, prolific 2021.

Though hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic's March 2020 inception, AEW has endeavoured to work closely with the joshi scene since day one, utilising wrestlers like Yuka Sakazaki and Itoh on a freelance basis and Riho and Shida as full-timers.
