Its no secret WWE fans have a flare for the nostalgic and for the what-could-have-been factor. Luckily, this years edition of WWE 2K has allowed us to toy with the past more than ever before. But in reality, the clout carried by some WCW mega-stars during its heyday, seems to have stayed just there. Very few have gone on to have long and prosperous careers, let alone a good relationship, with a company once seen to be their bitter rival. Timing is everything, but in some cases, creative dropped the ball. Here are how 8 WCW mega-stars fared after finally making the jump to WWE following the initial invasion kickoff. Pretty much, the A-team we all wanted to see, but weren't able to get. 8. DDP BANG! Without a doubt, the manager-turned-wrestler is a face of WCW. He was never the top guy who would headline every card he would grace, but he was a guy you just couldnt be without. He was the Randy Orton of WWE, and if he would have jumped ship to WWE pre-invasion, he would have probably been rewarded like the Guerreros and the Benoits of the world. Instead, after making his crowd-popping debut on RAW in revealing himself as The Undertakers stalker, he continued feuding with the deadman in what seemed like a shell of his former self. Something also just wasnt clicking between the feud and the fans, and that something might have been the WWE creative team. But remember, this was all still during the alliance era. Years of labor in the squared circle produced nagging injuries for DDP, and ultimately, his contract was allowed to expire. At this time, he had already fallen to the graces of bonafide mid-carders like Big Bossman, William Regal, and Christian, toying for the ever-forgotten European Title.
