How The New Day's WWE Pancake Obsession Started

Lumberjacks love baking?

New Day's prop list has included 'unicorn horns', trombones, breakfast cereal and pancakes over the years.

The horns were a merch item, the instrument belonged to Xavier Woods and the cereal sold a ton of units, but how did the group's obsession with hurling baked goods into live crowds come about? During an interview with 'First Things First', Kofi told the story of three men and thousands of pancakes.

It all began when Kofi and Big E teamed up to face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a 'Lumberjack Match' on a WWE house show. Xavier, who was patrolling ringside as a manager that night, decided to dress up as a literal lumberjack. He wore flannel, carried an axe and reasoned that the loggers love pancakes.

OK then.

That was it - that was where the pancakes came from. After the show, the trio immediately rushed to Vince McMahon's office and said they wanted to start carrying platters of the cakes with them every week. McMahon was rightly confused, but relented upon seeing the threesome's pancake passion.

Kofi said they argued that fans loved the quirkiness of it all.
