WWE is reportedly "absolutely thrilled" with how Bray Wyatt's comeback run has gone thus far.

The former 'Fiend' came back to the promotion at Extreme Rules 2022, where he appeared for the first time since his shocking July 2021 release. Two subsequent SmackDown promos have followed from Wyatt, who appears to be playing a new character, jumping between a more grounded, reality-driven presentation of himself and the new 'Uncle Howdy' persona.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that one of the reasons WWE is happy with how things are going is that Wyatt has already re-proven himself as a top-level merchandise mover. Per Johnson, Bray has been the company's top seller over the past few weeks - and the company has plans to expand his line, with Firefly Fun House plushes on the way.

On top of this, WWE has Bray positioned as SmackDown's number one babyface internally. Slotting in behind him is Drew McIntyre.

WWE is yet to throw Wyatt in his first significant post-comeback feud. Nonetheless, his return has proven successful in moving merchandise and generating hype, with Bray's presence helping boost WWE's television and social media engagement numbers.
