Triple H and WWE's creative team reportedly plan to 'play long game' with this worker.

Bodyslam.net (via @WrestlePurists on X) reports that popular star LA Knight is set for a major push on WWE television in 2026. Company sources have told the website that upper management remains high on Knight and views him as somebody who could make a big splash in the new year.

"He is very much still a top player for WWE", they said.

Triple H and the creative nucleus have been keeping a close eye on the positive reactions Knight has been receiving from live audiences despite some of his onscreen struggles since dropping the United States Title to Jacob Fatu back at WrestleMania 41 in April. He went on a bit of a slide after that, but WWE bosses aren't too worried.

They want to "play the long game" with LA and reflect his popularity with better storylines and feuds in 2026. If true, then Knight must become a firm favourite to win the 30-man Royal Rumble match over in Saudi Arabia. Jey Uso was a surprise winner in 2025, so anything is possible here.

Failing that, then he could still make an impact post 'Mania season. Traditionally, there's a bit of a lull in WWE programming after the Rumble-WrestleMania sprint ends, so LA could come in rather handy for that.

This will be music to the ears of those frustrated by Knight's lack of upwards mobility on Raw or SmackDown. Some believed he'd be locked in as a main eventer by now, but it hasn't really happened for the charismatic babyface. It looks like that's all set to change once calendars turn to January.
