HUGE Gimmick Match Main Event Confirmed For WWE SummerSlam 2022
Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has been announced for next month's WWE SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns has been confirmed as SummerSlam 2022's main event.
Lesnar returned on Friday's episode of SmackDown and attacked the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion following Roman's match with Riddle. Then, following the program, WWE announced that Brock would challenge Reigns for the belt on 30 July.
What's more, WWE has tagged a 'Last Man Standing' stipulation onto the bout.
This, for reference, will be the third time Roman and Brock have worked a match since Crown Jewel in October 2021. Reigns picked up the win on that occasion over in Saudi Arabia, and he beat Lesnar yet again at WrestleMania 38; that victory unified both the WWE and Universal Titles under Roman's banner.
Unless the company wants to end Reigns' long dominance at the top of cards, then he'll beat Brock for a third consecutive time at SummerSlam. Who knows if creative can squeeze another clash between the two titans after that.
They've already booked Lesnar vs. Reigns a ton over the years.
The 'Last Man Standing' stip should, at least, guarantee some brawling fun next month. WWE will certainly be banking on a lively headliner after being forced to change plans due to Randy Orton's injury.
