Following on from previous reports, it looks as if Sami Zayn could well become a free agent sooner rather than later.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it's reported that Zayn's current WWE contract is due to expire before the year is out.

The exact expiry date of Sami's ongoing deal isn't known at this stage, but the Observer claims that the hugely talented star's contract will be up before the end of 2021.

Of course, this follows recent reports that Kevin Owens' WWE deal will expire in January 2022, and that the current belief is Owens will be heading for the WWE exit deal once his contract is up - particularly with KO teasing a Mount Rushmore reunion with The Young Bucks and Adam Cole on Twitter.

Whilst they've often been bitter on-screen rivals, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are famously long-time best friends. And if the Prizefighter is seriously weighing up a move to AEW early next year, one has to think that Zayn may likewise be doing the same if his current WWE deal is indeed to expire before the turn of the year.
