HUGE Non-Spoiler Update On WWE WrestleMania 36 Tapings
An exclusive update on how things are going in Orlando.
As reported on Wednesday, an anonymous source at WWE's WrestleMania 36 tapings in Florida contacted WhatCulture to confirm the promotion was working frantically to ensure all 'Show of Shows' content was in the can before Thursday's 11pm "stay at home" order kicked in. That same source has now come through with new information.
We have been informed that WWE was still working on a "big cinematic fight" late at night, with the promotion spending all day getting props and a specially-designed set made for it. Triple H and a production director have taken the lead on overseeing it, with Vince McMahon nowhere to be seen, and the performers have been given increased leeway to improvise lines and actions. On top of this, WWE is filming several takes as wrestlers ask for reshots to try new ideas out.
Bryan Alvarez also came through with a 'Mania update on Wrestling Observer Radio, claiming that the bulk of WrestleMania 36's top matches have already been filmed. Alvarez is confident that everything will be in the can by 11pm on Thursday.
It sounds very much like WWE is going to make it over the line, then, and that "big cinematic fight" falls in line with movie-like feel speculated for John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt or The Undertaker and AJ Styles' ambiguous "Bonyeyard match."
