HUGE Opponent Planned For Jon Moxley At AEW All Out 2021?

Jon Moxley to face wrestling legend in All Out mega-match?

Jon Moxley Hiroshi Tanahashi
AEW/NJPW

Jon Moxley could end up facing NJPW icon Hiroshi Tanahashi at All Out 2021.

This is the belief of Dave Meltzer. Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, he stated that Moxley had a conversation with AEW owner Tony Khan about facing a top New Japan Pro Wrestling name on the 5 September show yesterday. Khan agreed to the bout, with last night's Dynamite events pointing towards Tanahashi.

Tana first appeared in a short promo on the IWGP United States Championship, stating his intention to challenge the winner of Lance Archer vs. Hikuleo. Archer ended up beating the Bullet Club man later on. His match with Tanahashi has now been set for NJPW's upcoming Resurgence show in Los Angeles.

In between all this, Moxley cut a promo claiming Tanahashi only started chasing the United States Title because he has just lost it to Archer. Frustrated by his inability to return to Japan, Mox called himself the Forbidden Door, throwing down the gauntlet.

A women's Casino Battle Royale is the only match confirmed for All Out 2021 thus far. The pay-per-view is still more than a month away.
