Big E will soon be announced as the final member of Team SmackDown for the traditional men's 5-on-5 elimination match at this weekend's Survivor Series 2020 pay-per-view.

This is according to Fightful Select. The report states that even though E will be the last person to join Team SmackDown, WWE decided he was going to fill that spot weeks ago. A qualifying match scheduled for last week's SmackDown was cancelled as a result of timing issues.

Perhaps said qualifier will be moved forward to this week's episode, though nothing has been confirmed yet. E will join Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, and Baron Corbin to face AJ Styles, Keith Lee, Braun Strowman, Sheamus, and Riddle.

E is currently in the midst of his first significant singles push in years. Though he was separated from New Day partners Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in the 2020 Draft, his elevation started several weeks prior to that, with the powerhouse engaging in a feud with Sheamus.

Dave Meltzer has reported that WWE split E from Woods and Kingston as they want to make him more of a serious character on his road up the card.
