HUGE Spoiler On Samoa Joe's In-Ring Future In WWE
It's official: Samoa Joe WILL wrestle again. All the details on his in-ring return for NXT...
Samoa Joe will return to a WWE ring at NXT TakeOver 36 on Sunday 22 August, as confirmed at yesterday's set of NXT television tapings.
Per the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, Joe featured in an in-ring segment that saw him offer to resign from his position as William Regal's enforcer in order to wrestle Karrion Kross, who destroyed Regal on this week's NXT. The General Manager consented to this, signing the contract there and then.
Things have been tense between Joe and Kross for weeks now. The duo went face-to-face on Joe's first night as Regal's right-hand man, with the situation causing discord between NXT's two authority figures. That shouldn't be an issue now that the former NXT Champion is back in the wrestling pool.
WWE pretaped two episodes of NXT at the Capitol Wrestling Center, as the show makes a temporary, fortnight-long switch from USA Network to SYFY due to clashes with Olympic games coverage.
TakeOver 36 will be the first time Joe has wrestled since February 2020, when he was sidelined due to concussion problems. His in-ring return has been continually teased, hinted at, and reported on since then.
