HUGE Update On The Young Bucks' AEW Status
"The Young Bucks will be taking some time away from wrestling," tweets Brandon Cutler.
The Young Bucks are set for some significant changes in AEW following Brandon Cutler's claim that Matt and Nick Jackson will be taking some time away from wrestling.
Cutler tweeted in the wake of AEW Full Gear 2023 (where the Bucks lost to Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho, the Golden Jets) that the Jacksons had requested privacy during their time away. Per the 'Executive Stooge' on Sunday:
I am being told that the Young Bucks will be taking some time away from wrestling. People close to Matt and Nick’s camp are asking for privacy during this time. pic.twitter.com/neD5IBUAKl

The tweet understandably raised questions over the Bucks' future. Fightful Select has since reported that it was part of the plan, with Matt and Nick set for a full-on heel turn (as teased on television over the past few months).
Fightful state that the Bucks will be joined in villainy by Cutler, as well as "at least one other personality." Cutler's X post was to further this. Going forward, the long-time Bucks associate will handle a lot of the Bucks' talking, onscreen and off.
Recent changes to Being the Elite's format also fall under the plan.
As far as the Bucks' relationship with AEW goes, "things are fine." Matt and Nick signed multi-year contract extensions earlier this year, retaining their roles as Executive Vice Presidents in the process.
There is currently no word on how long the Young Bucks will be away from AEW television.
