Jonathan Gresham may have found his Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor opponent on Wednesday night's AEW Rampage tapings.

Lee Moriarty challenged for Gresham's ROH World Championship last night, continuing their recent rivalry. Gresham won via submission. In a post-match promo, the technician cut a promo claiming to be the best wrestler on the planet only to be accosted by Claudio Castagnoli, who came out for a confrontation.

While the match hasn't yet been announced, that Gresham was still awaiting a Death Before Dishonor opponent at the time of filming makes the 23 July pay-per-view a likely spot for Claudio's challenge.

Castagnoli has never held the ROH World Championship despite spending much of his pre-WWE career working for the then-indie group. He did, however, reign as a two-time Tag Team Champion for the promotion, capturing the gold with Kings of Wrestling partner Chris Hero.

Gresham, 34, has been Ring Of Honor Champion for 215 days, having defeated Jay Lethal to capture the vacant belt at Final Battle 2021 in December. Moriarty was his 17th successful defence but his first in three months, having last put the gold on the line against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle Of The Belts II (15 April).
