Huge WWE WrestleMania 38 Debut Confirmed?

The plan has been likened to The Hardy Boyz' WWE comeback at WrestleMania 33.

Cody Rhodes isn't expected to appear on WWE programming until WrestleMania 38 itself, reports Dave Meltzer.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that the idea is for 'The American Nightmare' to recapture the magic of 'Mania 33, when The Hardy Boyz returned to the promotion to a massive pop on the night.

Regarded as one of the finest WWE comebacks in recent memory, Matt and Jeff's unannounced 2017 return was built up masterfully. After a weekend of swirling rumours (during which the Hardys wrestled The Young Bucks for Ring of Honor), WWE used 'Mania hosts The New Day to tease their entrance into the night's Raw Tag Team Championship match, then pulled the swerve when the iconic Hardy Boyz theme hit.

Matt and Jeff took the belts in an all-action ladder match, defeating The Bar, Enzo and Big Cass, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Rhodes is now believed to have officially signed with WWE after a protracted saga in the wake of his February split from AEW. He is expected to face Seth Rollins at 'Mania, then appear again on the follow-up episode of Raw, coming back to the company for the first time since 2016.
