Huge WWE X Stranger Things Collaboration In The Works (WWE News)
Netflix plans to tie WWE and Stranger Things together in coming weeks.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that Netflix plans to marry 2 top franchises together very soon. The streaming behemoth boasts WWE programming and the ever-popular Stranger Things show as part of its service, and some crossover could be in the works for both.
The radio show and Fightful noted that Stranger Things was responsible for a surge in popularity for old Kate Bush hit 'Running Up That Hill'. Placebo actually covered that track in a hype package produced for Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI in 2010 (which went on to be considered one of the greatest WWE matches ever)
So, in a way, there's been some crossover already!
More is coming though, and it's believed to have something to do with WWE flagship show Raw. That's one of the biggest weekly offerings Netflix has to shout about since snagging the rights to Raw last year - the promotion's top broadcast began airing via the streaming service in January 2025.
Season 5 of Stranger Things recently launched, so Netflix will be looking for cool ways to promote it. Bleeding over into other products available on the platform is a fine way to do just that, and it makes sense to use the time WWE has.
Just how far this goes is anyone's guess though. You might well see some lighthearted vignettes linking WWE's universe with the Stranger Things one. Or, various wrestlers may appear in comedic promos laced with references to the TV show.
Expect to see some sort of Stranger Things meets WWE collaboration before December is out though.
